Now the transfer window has closed, what are your ambitions for the season, and have they changed because of the deadline day business?

I suppose we are all hoping (praying) for a top six place come the end of this strange season.

However, once again the team has flattered to deceive and the last two home games have been a shock to the system.

Perhaps we should have foreseen the debacle given past experiences where our home form against poor sides is legend.

Hopefully the impressive new signings will freshen and invigorate the team as there seems to be an abundance of potential and the manager deserves every credit for his ambition. So let’s hope a fit again Bradley Dack is not expected to work miracles when he returns.

Our new keeper looks solid but the team's future appears very fluid due to the perennial problem of consistency.

It's a very open league this season with some teams considered stronger than others but no obvious front-runners.

It's a great opportunity for Rovers to take advantage of this and we have already stolen a march on some of the other teams with our positive early season form, last match aside.

The deadline day signings have only added more promise and optimism for what could be a great season ahead.

Add to that the impending return of Bradley Dack then we have many exciting options available to us.

The only thing the squad needs now is self-belief - an arrogance somewhat that they are good enough as the team is built on good, honest players in the mould of Tony Mowbray but honesty can sadly sometimes lack ruthlessness.

With some incomings having won the Championship, then this experience could be vital to give us that push we need.

The nucleus of the squad is also backed up by some emerging youngsters and I'm keen to see if Joe Grayson, Luke Brennan and Dan Butterworth can muscle in on the first team picture.

I, like many Rovers fans, have been pleasantly surprised with Rovers summer transfer dealings. I think a lot of credit should be given to Tony Mowbray, Mark Venus and the recruitment team at Ewood Park for the hard work that's been put in over this recent period.

I'm pleased we've patched up the goalkeeping department and I look forward to seeing a young Harvey Elliott show us all what he can do.

I think I am definitely feeling more positive about the season following the additions on deadline day, and I think it's definitely possible to push for a play-off position.

With Bradley Dack to return along with a significant cohort of first team footballers in the coming months, I'm excited to see what we can achieve in 2020/21.

The first ambition is always to improve on last season’s league position but that goes without saying.

Now with all these new additions joining the squad the pressure has ramped up on the boss to reach the top six and anything less may be seen some by some as a huge failure.

Our two main strikers cost an outlay of £11m and on goals scored they have failed miserably. We can't afford any of these new recruits to fail as miserably.

It should be an exciting season from now on with these signings plus the expected return of Bradley Dack, the challenge for the boss will be who to pick in the starting XI.
