YOUNGSTERS from Leigh Ospreys took on some of the country’s best young anglers recently and distinguished themselves greatly.
The club’s junior and youth fishing teams competed at the Angling Trust Nationals competition – the first time the club has been represented on such a stage for several years.
The juniors were actually announced as winning their competition, but an administrative error from the organisers meant they had to settle for second place, which they were rightly still delighted with.
The youth teams managed a fifth-place finish to round off a superb day for both squads and their coach Kev Sephton.
Leigh Tackle and Bait sponsored the Ospreys for the day, providing T-shirts, hoodies, hats and all the bait they needed for the matches.
