Barnsley v Blackburn Rovers – Oakwell, tonight 6pm

KEY BATTLE

A CLEAN sheet would be a welcome boost for Rovers, after going four games without one, but standing in their way is Barnsley’s 15-goal frontman Cauley Woodrow who netted when the sides met at Ewood.

LAST MEETING

THE dissenting voices were starting to grow around the terraces, as bottom side Barnsley twice equalised, only for Bradley Dack to come up with an 86th minute winner and ease some of the pressure on manager Tony Mowbray.

REFEREE

Tony Harrington – 79 yellow cards and four reds in 30 games this season, but didn’t spot the incident which has since earned Fulham striker Aleksandr Mitrovic a retrospective ban. Took charge of Rovers’ defeats to West Brom and Fulham this season.

PREDICTED TEAMS

The hosts could return to their diamond formation, hinted by boss Gerhard Struber, which could earn a recall for Conor Chaplin.

Rovers could be without Lewis Travis, but top scorer Adam Armstrong is expected to return to the starting line-up.

Barnsley: Jack Walton, Kilian Ludewig, Mads Anderson, Michael Sollbauer, Ben Williams, Marcel Ritzmaier, Alex Mowatt, Mike Bahre, Jacob Brown, Cauley Woodrow, Conor Chaplin

Rovers: Christian Walton, Ryan Nyambe, Darragh Lenihan, Tosin Adarabioyo, Elliott Bennett, Lewis Travis, Bradley Johnson, Lewis Holtby, Ben Brereton, Danny Graham, Adam Armstrong

WHAT’S THE ODDS?

BARNSLEY, with renewed hope of beating the drop, are 6/4 to emerge victorious, with Rovers 9/5 to come away with the points. The draw is 23/10. Adam Armstrong is 4/1 to score against one of his former loan clubs.
