Natasha Flint has announced she is leaving Rovers Ladies after 70 goals in just 66 games for the club.

Flint had an injury-hit 2019/20 campaign but finished as Rovers’ top scorer once again in the Women’s Championship with five goals in nine league matches.

She has been a key part of Gemma Donnelly’s side over the course of the last three seasons, but announced her departure on social media.

She wrote: "Ready for a new challenge... thank you to the staff, players & fans at Rovers. I’ve made some friends for life & going to miss you all. Good luck with the new season.”

Flint signed for Rovers in 2017 after spells with AFC Fylde, Notts County and Sheffield FC having come through the ranks at Manchester City.

Her goals were a key part of Rovers winning back-to-back Northern Premier Division crowns, winning the treble in 2017/18 and quadruple the following year.

Rovers secured another season in the second-tier of women’s football after the season was curtailed last month.

Meanwhile, captain Saffron Jordan was crowned Rovers Ladies supporters’ player of the year and was also voted as club person of the year.

Jordan, who scored six times in all competitions, took over the captaincy last season following the retirement of Lynda Shepherd, and now has 111 goals in 143 matches for Rovers.

Elsewhere, Alex Taylor’s stunning strike against Aston Villa secured the goal of the season award – narrowly edging out Flint’s goals away at Charlton Athletic and Sheffield United respectively, as well as Serena Fletcher’s effort against Crystal Palace.

Midfielder Natasha Fenton won the players’ player of the year vote following some eye-catching box-to-box displays in the middle of the park.

Rovers’ current longest serving player was the only member of the squad to feature in every minute of every game.

Meanwhile, England Under-19 international goalkeeper Fran Stenson, on loan from Arsenal, was the recipient of Rovers’ young player of the year award.
