CHARLIE Taylor admits Burnley would relish the chance to right some wrongs in Europe.

The Clarets saw off Bournemouth 3-0 at Turf Moor on Saturday for a fourth win in five Premier League games.

It leaves Sean Dyche’s side 10th, just four points shy of Manchester United in fifth, and right in the mix for European football next season ahead of the trip to Newcastle United on Saturday.

Having been knocked out in the Europa League qualifying rounds by Olympiakos last season, talk of another European tour is on the agenda at Turf Moor, something Taylor and his team-mates are not shying away from.

“We’ve had some good spells and bad spells this season but we’ve got a really good squad,” said Taylor.

“I said earlier on in the season it’s probably the best squad we’ve had since I’ve been here.

“It’s starting to show now and, fifth might even get Champions League but even  just Europe, another season in Europe would be brilliant.

“The lads loved it last time. I personally would (love another chance to play in Europe).

“Last time we feel as though we probably should have qualified for the group stages.

“It didn’t happen, we got some unlucky decisions, but another season in Europe would be brilliant.

“It would be a credit to everyone to get there.”

Last season’s Europa League exploits took their toll, Burnley firmly in a battle at the wrong end of the table before turning things around in the first part of 2019.

Taylor however insists it was an experience that the squad enjoyed and would love to take on again.

“It was a bit of a shock to the system last year,” said the 26-year-old.

“It was a bit strange but at the same time it was just fantastic.

"As a player that’s where you want to be, you want to be playing at the highest level. If not the Champions League, then the Europa League.

“Going away experiencing different cities, different cultures and different teams is brilliant.

"I personally loved it last time.”

Qualifying for Europe for the second time in three years would show just where the Clarets rank in the Premier League food chain.

Taylor, an increasingly key figure for Dyche, is well aware though that in a congested table there will be plenty of twists and turns ahead in the final 11 games of the campaign.

“First season I was here we qualified for Europe and then last season in the second half of the season we had some great form," the former Leeds United man said.

"To do it again (qualify for Europe) this year really would be brilliant but there’s a long way to go and a lot of games to play.

“There’s a lot of top, top teams above us and a lot of good teams below us who are all going to want that as well.

“We’re on a really good run and we want to carry on that.

“There’s no reason why we can’t go up to Newcastle and win and keep going up the league.”
