Burnley were well beaten at Stamford Bridge as they went down to a fourth straight Premier League defeat on Saturday.
A rash Matt Lowton challenge saw Jorginho open the scoring from the spot before Tammy Abraham doubled Chelsea’s advantage when Nick Pope should have done better.
Any hopes of a second half revival were ended four minutes after the interval when Callum Hudson-Odoi made it 3-0.
Did any Clarets come away with some credit? See if you agree with our player ratings below.
Nick Pope 5
Kicking was poor and questions will rightly be asked about the second goal. Made a couple of sharp stops immediately after it and helped keep score down in second half.
Matt Lowton 4
Desperately short of form. An early error nearly let Willian in before full back brought him down with rash challenge for penalty. A tough afternoon.
James Tarkowski 6
Banged and bruised in the first half, one strong challenge on Abraham was key before striker eased him off the ball for second goal.
STAR MAN: Ben Mee 7
Led the Clarets’ defensive effort and having been marginally ruled offside when Jeff Hendrick had the ball in the net saw his own effort cleared off the line.
Charlie Taylor 5
Produced one diving block early on when the Clarets were up against it but struggled to contain Hudson-Odoi in the second half.
Aaron Lennon 5
Busy down the right in the second half when the game was all but gone having kept his place after FA Cup win. Needs more end product.
Jack Cork 5
Worked hard against his former club but had no influence on the game as the Clarets’ midfield was largely bypassed.
Ashley Westwood 6
Tried to keep the Clarets ticking over in the middle of the park but visitors could not contain Chelsea at any stage.
Jeff Hendrick 6
Sliced one effort wide in the early stages before seeing a goal chalked off when Mee was adjudged to be offside. Playing off Wood might be his best position.
Dwight McNeil 6
Had Reece James to contend with defensively but brought a good save from Kepa late in the first half before being booked for a foul on Ross Barkley. Tried to make things happen in the second, looking Burnley’s biggest threat.
Chris Wood 5
Spent most of the first period being patched up with blood coming from his nose. Did his best to lead the line but service was limited.
Matej Vydra 5
Replaced Hendrick for the final 15 minutes but hardly got a kick with visitors on the back foot in the closing stages.
