Rich Sharpe hands out his player ratings after Rovers' win at Stoke City.

Christian Walton 6

Made good saves to deny a Vokes header and Diouf shot in the second half, and Ince in the first. Felt he was impeded in the lead up to the Stoke goal, but needed to be more commanding.

Ryan Nyambe 8

Had more touches of the ball than anyone on the pitch and was a good outlet down the right. Had a good battle with McLean all afternoon. Came up with an excellent pass in the build-up to the winner.

Tosin Adarabioyo 8

Is starting to live up to the promise. Commanding in the air, assured in possession, and his partnership with Lenihan is showing encouraging signs.

Darragh Lenihan 8

His ability to head the ball is something that Rovers have lacked. Won 12 headers in all, and a captain’s performance at the back, marshalling the defence all afternoon. Cleared a Diouf shot off the line.

Stewart Downing 7

Was from his corner that Rovers took the lead. Never stopped offering himself, breaking forward even in stoppage time. Struggled with aerial balls played into the far post.

Lewis Travis 7

His partnership with Evans remains a winning one. Caught on the ball at times in the second half. Got through plenty of work, with Stoke going with a flat three in midfield.

Corry Evans 8

Twice in the first half read the game perfectly to clear dangerous crosses. Had control of the midfield in the first half, but needed to work more without the ball in the second. Unfortunate to turn in to his own goal.

Adam Armstrong 6

Started off well, drawing a save from Butland and twice getting in behind. Was diligent in his defensive work, but a knock early in the second half ended his afternoon.

Bradley Dack 8

His excellent form in front of goal continues, making it four in three to end November and move to 10 for the season. Helped Rovers keep good shape behind the ball with good pressing from the front, and had a key role in the winner.

Joe Rothwell 6

Didn’t have the same level of intensity as against Brentford. Tried to look busy on the ball, but a few breaks forward broke down, with most of his passes going backwards or sidewards.

Danny Graham 7

Made his presence felt up against Batth who he roughed up well. Didn’t get a sight of goal but battled away. His substitution looked to come at the right time.

Subs

Elliott Bennett (for Armstrong, 52) 7

Helped Nyambe with the threat of McLean. Had the composure to pick out Gallagher for the winner.

Sam Gallagher (for Graham, 60) 7

Tucked some his second of the season, sweeping in a Bennett pull-back, to send the away fans in to frenzy.

Lewis Holtby (for Rothwell, 71) 6

Another good sub, at the right time. Looked to get involved where possible.

Unused subs: Jayson Leutwiler, Amari’i Bell, Bradley Johnson, Ben Brereton
