Rich Sharpe hands out his Rovers player ratings after the 2-2 draw with Huddersfield.

Christian Walton 5

Sent the wrong way by the penalty but should have done better with the second Huddersfield goal as Bacuna’s shot squeezed beyond him as he looked to be wrong-footed.

Ryan Nyambe 7

A real driving force down the Rovers right, particularly first half. One poor clearance apart, stuck to his task well defensively.

Tosin Adarabioyo 7

Looked at ease with the ball at his feet, threading balls in to midfield, but needs to become a little more aggressive in his defensive work, as shown by the Huddersfield equaliser.

Derrick Williams 7

One superb second half challenge on Grant bailed out team-mate Johnson, while blocked two shots, one in either half.

Elliott Bennett 6

Unfortunate to concede the penalty from which Grant scored. Troubled by Diakhaby but got to grips with the winger as the game wore on.

Lewis Travis 6

Recalled to the side and got Rovers moving in the first half, dragging a shot wide and creating a chance for Armstrong. Substituted in the second half as Huddersfield began to take charge.

Bradley Johnson 6

Couldn’t get hold of the game when Rovers needed him to in the second half. Too many fouls given away, and lucky not to see more come of a misplaced second half pass. Had started off positively, including setting up a great chance for Holtby.

Stewart Downing 6

Several good deliveries in to the box, including one that almost saw Brown put through his own net. Kept his width, and the ball well, but created few goalscoring opportunities.

Lewis Holtby 7 (MAN OF THE MATCH)

A goal and an assist on his first start told only half the story. Busy, and involved in everything good about Rovers in the opening 45 minutes. Linked up well playing off the right before being replaced.

Adam Armstrong 6

His movement allowed Rovers to push Huddersfield back. A shot on the turn in the first half was saved by Grabara, and a second half effort was almost turned in by Dack.

Bradley Dack 7

Teed up Holtby for the opening goal with an excellent reverse pass, and found the net himself with an excellent curling pass. Tried to do a little too much, when faced with contact, in the second half.

Subs

Joe Rothwell (for Travis, 70) 5

Roughed up by a poor challenge from Hogg and struggled to get involved in the game.

Sam Gallagher (for Holtby, 70) 5

Glanced wide a header from a Williams cross, but would have been expected to be in the six yard box when Armstrong fizzed a ball in from the right.

Corry Evans (for Downing, 80) 5

Brought on as Rovers started to get stretched in the middle of the pitch.

Subs not used: Jayson Leutwiler, John Buckley, Joe Rankin-Costello, Danny Graham
