Rovers have launched a season ticket sales initiative which could see one supporter win £10,000.

The club are hoping that will entice more supporters to sign up for a season ticket for this season, with the prize on offer should Rovers reach sales of 10,000.

Around 8,600 season tickets have been sold to date, with Rovers having frozen prices at last season’s early bird rate.

Chief executive Steve Waggott has targeted 10,000 season ticket sales, though the current numbers are said to have already beaten the last three years.

But in an attempt to further boost sales, the club have launched an initiative with a cash prize on offer for one lucky fan.

Were Rovers to reach the milestone, the club revealed it would represent their highest sales figure since the 2010/11 Premier League campaign.

“We want to do everything possible to maximise the number of fans at Ewood and whilst the current numbers are encouraging, we really want to hit the target of 10,000 payers, to give Tony Mowbray and the team the best possible chance of success this season,” Waggott said.

“With that in mind, we will give one lucky season ticket holder a cash prize of £10,000.

“All you need to do to be in the hat is to commit to a season ticket for what promises to be a thrilling season.

“We froze the prices at last season’s early bird levels and have payment plans available to spread the cost.

“The savings across the season are major, so we urge everyone to get on board and persuade friends and family to buy a Season Ticket and help us reach the target.

“The draw will only happen if we get to that landmark figure, which will get us back to Premier League numbers.”

Season tickets will remain on sale until Monday, September 16. Should Rovers hit the figure by then, a prize draw will take place at the home game with Luton Town on Saturday, September 28.

To be in with a chance of winning the price, you must have a season ticket, be aged over 18, and be present at Ewood for the Luton game.
