Bradley Dack is confident of building up the same understanding with Sam Gallagher as he has developed with Danny Graham over the last two seasons.

Dack and Graham have struck up a chemistry on and off the field since his £750,000 move from Gillingham, netting 68 goals in the last two years between them.

Sam Gallagher was brought in to provide competition for Graham and started the opening two matches as the central striker.

And Dack sees no reason why he and the 23-year-old can’t develop that same level of understanding.

“Me and Sam playing together won’t ever be a problem,” Dack said.

“I enjoy playing with him and he is a top player so it is something we can work on and try and get that understanding.

“You have to adjust your game but everything takes time.

“They are similar size and you would look at them as target men but Sam likes to play in behind and use his pace and I think Sam will tell you is he not as good in the air as Danny at knocking it down.”

Boss Tony Mowbray went with Graham up front against Boro, with Gallagher on the wing. Rovers aren’t short of options in the forward areas, with Joe Rothwell and Adam Armstrong having been used off the bench on Saturday.

Rovers could mix up things up for the trip to the KCOM Stadium, but whichever players are picked, Dack is confident they can be a threat to any team.

He added: “I think away from home the gaffer wants to go with pace which is good, and obviously Rothwell, Armstrong and Gallagher are all rapid.

“If those three are running through you are not catching them so it is nice to play as a No.10 and have all those options.”

Graham’s penalty was enough to hand Rovers a first league win of the season, having beaten Oldham Athletic in the Carabao Cup in which Dack netted his first of the season.

They face a Hull side with four points to their name this season, though Dack would take a repeat of 12 months ago where his goal handed Rovers a 1-0 win.

“You would take a 1-0 win all day. It was nice for me to get the goal,” Dack said.

“They are a different animal now though Hull, I remember at the time was a lot of pressure from the fans on the owners and stuff. I think that transferred onto the pitch,.

“They have got some good players, the two wide men are decent and they have a centre forward who scores goals.

“It is nice to go there with a win, confidence is high in the changing room and you can feel the difference around the place and we want to make this into a good run now.

“We have some tough games coming up but we have go to Hull and try and get three points like we did last year.”
