Andy Gray lashed home his eighth goal of the season in the 11th minute as Burnley started in dominant fashion.
But they were made to rue a host of missed chances when the Tykes equalised in the 71st minute through a header from Miguel Mostto.
The draw leaves the Clarets in 12th place with a game in hand over most sides above them.
