David Raya is reportedly closing in on a move to Brentford.

The Rovers goalkeeper has been a target for the Griffin Park club who are on the lookout for a new number one after Daniel Bentley moved to Bristol City.

It is now believed a £3 million fee has been agreed between the clubs with the 23-year-old Spaniard set for a medical.

Raya’s departure would leave boss Tony Mowbray with a major piece of transfer business to do after bringing in Derby midfielder Bradley Johnson on Friday.

The shot-stopper made 46 appearances last season but sat out the final four games as Jayson Leutwiler got his chance to impress.

The Canadian was handed a new one-year contract at the end of the summer and has been on international duty with his country at the Gold Cup.

Raya’s absence would leave third choice Andrew Fisher and new arrival Joe Hilton, picked up after being released by Everton, as the goalkeepers available for the opening friendly against Barrow on Saturday.

Barcelona-born Raya joined the Rovers academy in 2012 and signed a professional contract two years later.

In all he has made 108 appearances for the club.
