Rovers will be ball No.3 for tomorrow night's Carabao Cup draw.
The first round draw, which takes place at 7pm, sees the draw split in to northern and southern sections, with 70 clubs entering the competition at this stage.
Clubs in League One and League Two are joined by 22 of the 24 Championship clubs.
Rovers are one of 12 Championship sides in the northern section of the draw which will include 18 ties to be played over the week commencing August 12.
Accrington Stanley are ball No.1.
Rovers saw off two League Two sides in rounds one and two last year, beating Carlisle 5-1 and then Lincoln 4-1 at Ewood, before eventually being knocked out by Premier League side Bournemouth.
Premier League clubs not in Europe, as well as relegated duo Fulham and Cardiff, will enter in round two, before the other top-flight clubs join in round three.
