BURY Blue Devils beat Cardinal Langley 96-80 to keep their Manchester Area Basketball League Premier Division play-off hopes alive.
In what was their final home game, youngster Callum Brady came out firing with two three-pointers that set the offensive tone with another young player, Alex Plumb, returning from an ankle injury and also contributing from long range.
Defensively, Bury locked in and that led to steals and forced shots that helped them to a 48-33 half-time lead, including 11 straight points by Brady.
Good movement off the ball allowed Bury to flow freely and extend their lead in the second half.
Vitoldas Balciunas was a force inside, while Chris Stainton found the open spaces for great shots.
The athletic Ste Graham worked hard at both ends of the court but an injury to his finger took him out of the game.
Nevertheless, Bury continued to work smart and pulled away for the win with Brady top scoring with 26 points and Plumb bagging 22.
