Chris Solly’s claim of wrongful dismissal has not been overturned by an FA panel and the defender will serve a four-match ban.
Solly was given a red card for a challenge on Oxford United’s Jamie Mackie in the 2-1 defeat at the Kassam Stadium on Good Friday.
An FA Regulatory Commission meeting was held on Sunday regarding the club captains’ appeal but the dismissal was upheld.
It was Solly’s second red card of the campaign meaning an extra game was added to the ban and now rules the defender out until the second leg of the play-offs if Charlton aren’t to secure automatic promotion.
Solly served the first of his four match ban on Easter Monday as Charlton ran out comfortable 4-0 winners over Scunthorpe and he’ll also miss the regular season fixtures with Gillingham and Rochdale.
