Rovers will monitor the hamstring injury to midfielder Corry Evans who is currently away on international duty with Northern Ireland.

The 28-year-old was allowed to join up with his country for their Euro 2020 double header, but wasn't involved in the 2-0 win over Estonia on Thursday night.

Evans, who limped off in Rovers’ defeat at Sheffield Wednesday last weekend, has sustained a minor hamstring injury which has seen him miss training this week.

However, national team boss Michael O’Neill hasn’t ruled the 51-capped Evans out of Sunday’s match when they host Belarus.

The Rovers medical department will remain in contact with their counterparts at Northern Ireland before deciding whether Evans returns to East Lancashire for treatment ahead of next Saturday's trip to Aston Villa.

Rovers captain Charlie Mulgrew, who has missed the last two matches with the same injury, was withdrawn from the Scotland squad for this international break.

The 33-year-old, who Rovers hope will be fit for the Villa game along with Darragh Lenihan and Jack Rodwell, missed Scotland’s 3-0 defeat to Kazakhstan on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Rovers youngster Louie Annesley will hope to win his fourth cap for Gibraltar when they host Republic of Ireland tonight (6pm).

Annesley, who joined Rovers from Lincoln Red Imps in January, has played twice for the Under-23s side since making the move to Ewood Park.

The 18-year-old made his international debut against Latvia 12 months ago, with his other caps coming against Armenia and Macedonia.
