CHARLIE Taylor wants the Clarets to take responsibility for their own Premier League safety as they prepare for a trip to title-chasing Liverpool.

Burnley have five points clear of the bottom three with nine games remaining having lost their last two matches.

The trip to Anfield is a daunting one but Taylor is confident the Clarets can pick up enough points between now and the end of the season to ensure survival, regardless of what their relegation rivals do.

"We know what we need to do between now and the end of the season," said the left back.

"We’ve got some tough games, but we’ve got some games at home where we want to take points, and we hope we can do that.

"We want to do it ourselves. We want to get as many points as possible so that we don’t have to worry about other teams, and we can just concentrate on ourselves."

The Clarets pulled themselves out of the relegation zone with an eight-game unbeaten between late December and late February and Taylor wants to rediscover that form for the run-in.

"We need a few more results and we have to get back to how we were in the eight games before," said the 25-year-old.
