WE rate the Burnley players after the 0-0 draw at Watford

Tom Heaton 8

Made a big early save to deny Deulofeu and another to keep out a Deeney effort. Caught everything he came for and looks back to his best

Phil Bardsley 7

Passed fit to retain his place at right back and delivered another strong performance. Defended resolutely and got forward to good effect.

Ben Mee 7

The Premier League ever-present sent an early header off target and was a constant threat from set pieces. Defended well.

James Tarkowski 6

Made a couple of key interceptions and was part of an organised backline. Caught out for Deeney’s first half chance but otherwise solid.

Charlie Taylor 7

Defended well against Sema in the first half and Deulofeu in the second. The timing of his challenges was excellent. Has grown into a strong Premier League player.

Dwight McNeil 7

Youngster was a threat with his set piece deliveries and volleyed a really good chance over early in the second half. Carries a threat.

Ashley Westwood 8

Played one sumptuous volleyed cross to pick out Mee in the first half and won possession back plenty of times in midfield in another good display. Man of the match.

Jack Cork 6

Back at the club where he spent time on loan in 2009. A bit wayward with his passing and couldn’t quite wrestle control of the midfield battle.

Jeff Hendrick 6

It didn’t quite come off for the midfielder who went close with one second half effort and tried to link the play between midfield and attack

Ashley Barnes 7

Spurned one glorious chance in the first half but battled well. Always a nuisance for defenders and his work-rate is second to none.

Chris Wood 7

Worked hard and had the better of Kabasele all afternoon. Was strong in possession and his build-up play was good.
