LEIGH Miners Rangers have learned their fixture schedule for the 2019 National Conference League season.

After opening with a home Challenge Cup tie against Oulton Raiders on 26 January Miners will hope to have made progress in the famous old knock-out tournament before they commence league action on the first weekend in March.

Having sealed a dramatic return to the top division last season the Leigh side open their Premier Division campaign with the visit of the club which pipped them to automatic promotion last season as Lock Lane are the first league visitors to Twist Lane on Saturday 2 March.

The following weekend it’s the trip to last season’s invincible title winners Hunslet Club Parkside whilst other dates to look out for include the derby matches against Thatto Heath (home on 18 May, away on 10 August) and the Pit Stop festival weekend which this year brings Cumbrian outfit Egremont to Sutton Park as part of the celebrations.

Miners conclude their season at home to the other promoted team from 2019 Thornhill Trojans (7 September).
