BURNLEY could open Tottenham's new stadium on December 15, according to a report in the Daily Telegraph.

The opening of the new ground, next to the old White Hart Lane, has been beset by delays but pictures this week showed goalposts up at the stadium and the pitch has now been laid.

According to the Telegraph officials at Tottenham are 'tentatively working towards an opening date of December 15 against Burnley', with Daniel Levy telling Mauricio Pochettino that the stadium will be ready to move into before New Year.

Spurs had hoped to be in their new £850million stadium for the start of this season but have been forced to remain at Wembley longer than expected, a ground where Burnley drew 1-1 against Pochettino's side last season.
