JACK Cork insists he will only start looking at the Premier League table when it gets to Christmas - despite his delight at seeing how quickly it can change in the early weeks of the season.

The embryonic table was a worrying sight for Clarets fans just over a week ago, with four successive league defeats seeing Burnley plummet to the foot of the Premier League.

But just as fear was setting in Cork and co have found their stride again, beating Bournemouth 4-0 and Cardiff City 2-1 to move into the comfort of mid-table.

"It's crazy. We were bottom of the league two weeks ago and now two wins gets you six points and we're 12th in the table," Cork said of Burnley's turnaround in recent weeks.

"It's crazy how quickly things can change at the start of the season. Just look at West Ham - they were right down there but they're in the top half now. It changes quickly and you can't take anything for granted."

After steadying the ship after those four straight defeats the Clarets now have to focus on pushing on.

Having seen how quickly the table can change Burnley know it can just as quickly turn against them at this stage of the campaign, which is why Cork will try and wait until December before paying too much attention to the standings.

"We're seven games in and we've got seven points. You can only start looking at the league table around Christmas time," he said.

"It's gone from a bad start to an okay start now. We just need to keep building on that.

"It's only two games and two wins so far. We've got a good game coming up against Huddersfield and we'll be looking to get a result."

Sean Dyche's side have certainly shown signs of being back to their best against the Cherries and the Bluebirds.

The victory over Eddie Howe's Bournemouth was Burnley's biggest in the Premier League, while the success in south Wales on Sunday was a dogged display against an uncompromising side.

"The Bournemouth and Cardiff games were completely different," Cork said.

"We felt that we were a lot more aggressive and attacking in our gameplan at home. To go to a place like Cardiff we had to be resilient and dig in.

"The results show that we've got different sides to us. We know we can dig in and get a result and when we're at home, with the crowd behind us, we can play some good stuff and create chances."

Burnley will look to rediscover that Turf Moor aggression on Saturday when they welcome strugglers Huddersfield, with victory sending the Clarets into the October international break on the back of three successive victories.

"It would be amazing to go in to that break with three wins in a row against teams that could be around us at the end of the season. It would be great to be doing that," Cork added.
