Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe says he won’t be underestimating Rovers given the way they have adapted to life back in the Championship.

Tony Mowbray takes his side to the south coast tonight to face a Bournemouth side reeling from a 4-0 defeat at Burnley on Saturday.

That was a rare off day for the Cherries who had lost just one of their opening five matches and sit eighth in the early table.

They beat MK Dons in round two, naming a strong team in the process, with Howe insisting he will do the same again tomorrow, helped by not having a game until hosting Crystal Palace on Monday.

“We’re looking forward to getting back into action and looking forward to having the chance to respond,” he said.

“I think we expect a good football match with Blackburn, they’ve done well adapting to life back in the Championship.

“They're playing with confidence and have kept their momentum from promotion.

“We won’t underestimate Blackburn in any way, as we didn’t for MK Dons, we know we’ll have to play well to get through.”

Junior Stanislas returned from injury on Saturday, with Howe having just Charlie Daniels, Dan Gosling and Kyle Taylor unavailable through injury.

On his team selection, Howe added: “We’ll look at the team and try and make the right calls.

“We have players who are desperate to play and get an opportunity.

“We need to make the right call and we want to progress. It’s a home game and we want to entertain the home supporters, we’ll make the best decision possible.

“No matter the run of results you want players who put the air hands up and want to play, it’s an opportunity for those players to play and show what they can do.”
