Neil Harris praised the “man of the match” display from goalkeeper Jordan Archer after a goal-less draw at Ewood Park.

Archer made two saves to deny Danny Graham in the second half, as well as keeping out efforts from Bradley Dack and Joe Rothwell.

The Millwall stopper was in the thick of the action in the second half but came good for his side when called upon.

And Harris was pleased with Archer’s “excellent” display.

He said: “You get various ways of keeping a clean sheet.

“You deny opportunities, but if you do give them away then you need your goalkeeper - I thought he was excellent.

“I think it's right. He was certainly our best player.

“There were no goals scored, so Jordan is man of the match for me, definitely.

“The two close-up saves were really good, because he's facing a good striker in Danny Graham.”

Millwall were the better side for much of the first half, with George Saville and Steve Morison both denied by the woodwork.

Harris thought  bright opening would pave the way for all three points, but he praised Rovers’ response after the break.

“I thought we were good for 40 minutes - no real problems,” he added.

“We used the ball wisely at times and looked productive.

“We hit the post twice and had a couple of shots go just wide and I thought once we got the first one it would be a real positive afternoon.

“We spoke about denying Blackburn opportunities at half-time and what we did in the first-half to deny them, but we came out and it went out of the window a little bit.

“Blackburn were a little bit better doing the basics in football than us - for whatever reason, certainly not through lack of effort from my players - 50/50 challenges didn't go our way.”

Rovers are now unbeaten in their last 21 matches at home, with Harris praising his players’ attitude for helping them a 0-0 draw.

“A strong team and a strong dressing room get a point,” Harris told his club’s website.

“A weak mentality team who aren't quite at it - they get beat.

“So I'm really pleased with the dressing room mentality that we got a clean sheet when we weren't very good.

“Blackburn played well in the second-half and we never really got going.

“When you're defending like you are then you need to rely on keeping the ball.

“The turnover in possession was too often and unlike us. When it's like that and it's not happening for you then you need to keep a clean sheet.”
