LOWERHOUSE beat Burnley to win the Worsley Cup on home turf in front of a packed crowd on Sunday.
Home sub pro Mark Cosgrove took 3-31 and then made 54 with the bat as the hosts recovered from 47-5 to chase down Burnley's 169-9.
Charlie Cottam made 47 for House and Chris Bleazard (20 not out) and Joey Hawke (19 not out) were able to steer their side over the line.
House had been in trouble when Joe McCluskie trapped Ben Heap LBW with the first ball of their reply and then bowled Joseph Martin for four. Cole Hayman then took three wickets for Burnley to leave the home side at 47-5.
But Cosgrove and Cottam rebuilt and in the end House got home with more than four overs to spare.
Earlier, Burnley professional Asif Zakir made 42 while captain Dan Pickup (24 not out) and Tom Lawson (23) added a vital 36 for the ninth wicket to help the visitors post a competitive total.
