RICHIE Smallwood has become the latest Rovers player to put pen to paper on a new deal at the club.

Smallwood started every League One game for Rovers in 2017/18 and became a fans favourite after his move from Rotherham United last summer.

The 27-year-old has signed a fresh two year contract as boss Tony Mowbray continues to reward the squad who helped the club to promotion last term.

Smallwood, affectionately known as the King of Ewood, played 52 times in all competitions and follows Darragh Lenihan and Derrick Williams in committing their extended futures to the club.
