EARBY have conceded their Ribblesdale League T20 game tonight, meaning opponents Euxton have qualified for the last eight.

The William Street men have lost all five games so far and confirmed on Wednesday night that they would be unable to raise a side for the trip to Euxton.

The decision means Euxton pick up the point they needed to qualify for the quarter-finals.

The group’s other match tonight sees Cherry Tree visit Feniscowles with the away side needing at least a point to keep alive their hopes of progressing at the expense of Barnoldswick who have completed their fixtures.

For Euxton, who have started slowly in the league this season, progress in the cup is a positive.

And skipper Andrew Winrow believes playing with a smile on their faces has helped them improve this term.

“We are enjoying the T20 a lot more,” he said. “That really makes a difference.

“The league form has been disappointing but we have been doing well in the cups.

“We have had two T20 games abandoned and certainly in one we were in a position to win it.

“It is straight knockout now and we are looking forward to it.”

Euxton entertain Cherry Tree in the league tomorrow and Winrow is hoping professional Aneeeq Hassan can continue his good form.

“There’s more to come from him but he is coming into form with a 50 last week and a 90 odd the week before that.

“He is a doing a good job for us and we are pleased with him.”

Group two of the T20 has already finished with Ribblesdale Wanderers, Settle, Whalley and Read the qualifiers.
