AIDEN O'Neill's loan spell at Fleetwood Town has come to an end after Burnley exercised a recall option on the Australian midfielder.
The 19-year-old joined the Cod Army on a season-long loan in August and he's featured 27 times for the League One outfit, scoring once, in the 2-2 draw at Blackburn Rovers.
But after being substituted at half-time in the 2-0 defeat to Gillingham just before Christmas O'Neill hasn't featured in any of Uwe Rosler's last three matchday squads.
Rosler said: "I'd like to thank Aiden for his efforts whilst at Fleetwood Town and wish him all the best for the future.”
While O'Neill has been recalled by Burnley he is currently away with Australia's Under-23 squad for the AFC U23 Championship, which takes place in China throughout January.
Australia get their campaign underway on January 11 against Syria, with South Korea and Vietnam also in their group.
When O'Neill returns from international action with the Socceroos he is set to go back out on loan to League One promotion contenders Scunthorpe United, where he will link up with former Claret Graham Alexander.
