WITH Michael Keane rejecting Burnley’s offer of a new contract it seems to me he wants the move to Leicester City.

The Foxes have been persistent in their chase and now he has said no to a four-year contract at Burnley, I’m sure they will be back with another bid soon.

MORE TOP STORIES:

I really wanted to keep Michael, he’s been brilliant for Burnley and he’s a real stalwart in that defence, but it’s looking difficult now.

The money being mentioned is an awful lot to turn down and it would go a long way for Burnley.

I can see why Michael wants that move, or the chance to speak to Leicester at the very least.

It’s not only a move to the Premier League champions but also the chance to play in the Champions League and test yourself against the very best players in the world, it is a very attractive possibility for a player.

By rejecting the new contract he has put the pressure on the manager and the board. What do they do now? Do they want to cash in and make sure they get good money for him, or can they risk turning it down and keeping him for another year, but maybe losing him for less next summer? It’s a difficult decision.

Sam Vokes has no such worries at the moment. What a story is it for them and what a fantastic header it was on Friday night.

I used to score a few like that in my days and it’s such a difficult finish to get right.

All the Welsh lads have been saying how good the team spirit is and I think Chris Coleman deserves an awful lot of credit for that, he’s led the Wales team brilliantly and I think they’ve got a real chance against Portugal tomorrow.

They’ve certainly overshadowed England in the tournament.

I thought Roy Hodgson’s team selection was terrible and it was right that he had to resign.

You look at the spirit in the Wales team and I just don’t see that with England, where was the passion against Iceland? The skill and endeavour Iceland played with put England to shame.

To play for your country is the ultimate reward, when I pulled on the green jersey of Northern Ireland I felt I was representing my country and I was so proud, but I don’t really see that with the England players. Maybe the money they are on now has softened the ambition, they just looked to be going through the motions to me.

It was a shame Tom Heaton didn’t get on, had he started a game I think Hodgson would have had a selection dilemma because Joe Hart had a really poor tournament.

Iceland went out to France but I’ve been impressed with their captain Aron Gunnarsson, who plays for Cardiff. He could be a replacement for Joey Barton at Burnley.
