DAVID Dunn could make his eagerly awaited second' debut for Blackburn in next week's Premiership clash with Sheffield United at Ewood.
That's the view of Rovers manager Mark Hughes, who said the 27-year-old midfielder is flying' in training.
Dunn rejoined Blackburn from Birmingham City last week in a deal that could eventually be worth upwards of £2 million.
And after spending a week being put through his paces by Rovers' coaching staff at Brockhall, Dunn is almost ready to make his first team bow, which will be a massive boost to Hughes as two of his central midfielders, Robbie Savage and Steven Reid, are both ruled out with long-term injuries.
The Rovers boss said: "We've still got to get Dunny up to speed (in terms of his match fitness).
"But he looks in great nick at the moment - he's probably looking fitter than I've ever seen him before.
"He's not as far away from playing a game as we actually thought he would be when we first signed him.
"All he needs is match practice now."
