A tough November programme has seen Burnley stumble to back-to-back defeats on the road against leaders Cardiff and West Brom and fail to score in their last two games.

Despite that, the Clarets are still flying high in fourth position and can leapfrog Birmingham with victory tomorrow.

Manager Steve Cotterill reckons his side will soon reap their rewards after being handed precious little luck in recent games.

He explained: "I don't think we were very lucky with the referee selection at Cardiff.

"At West Brom, if you took away the first eight minutes of the game and the last 10 or 15 minutes after Frank Sinclair had been sent off, there was nothing between the teams.

"Something will drop for us and the strikers will get back on the scoresheet again. We are ready for the game.

"We will approach it positively and there's no reason why we shouldn't.

"We are fourth in the table and if it doesn't work for us on Saturday, then we go on to Tuesday, then we go on to the following Saturday and that's the way it is.

"We are upbeat and positive. We are geared to win, that's how we set up this season and that's why we've won so many games."

Cotterill added: "If we win tomorrow, that will be three points out of the last three games.

"If you gave us a point against Cardiff, point against West Brom and point against Birmingham, they would not be bad results.

"Sooner or later, if we pick up that win to eradicate those couple of defeats that we've just had, then I think that will be about right."
