ACCRINGTON Stanley completed four deadline-day loan signings.

Cardiff City duo Joe Jacobson, 20, and Curtis McDonald, 18, have joined on a month's loan, while 19-year-old Crewe Alexandra central defender Adam Dugdale has penned a similar deal at the Fraser Eagle Stadium.

And manager John Coleman has also added David Mannix from Liverpool to his line-up, beating off strong competition from Preston and Burnley for the 21-year-old midfielder.

All four will be available for Saturday's trip to Grimsby Town.

Coleman moved quickly to bolster his squad after losing Ian Craney on loan to Swansea, Sean Doherty and Francois Dubourdeau to Stockport and loan signing Rikki Baines to UniBond Premier Division side Leek Town.

And he believes he has uncovered another handful of gems for Stanley.

On Welsh under-19 internationals Curtis and McDonald, he said: "They're both exciting players.

"One's a defender and one's a midfielder.

"We're a little bit thin on the ground and we have to add numbers.

"We've got one or two players in from top clubs and they're looking to kick start their careers.

"They're young lads, they've had a good grounding and they're international players.

"I spoke to them in Dave Jones' office and both of them impressed me with their enthusiasm and keenness to do well.

"They didn't give it a second thought about coming here.

"There was no airs and graces about them even though they're part of a team that's top of the Championship.

"They're not looking at this as a step down, they're really looking at this as a chance to kick-start their career.

"Both of them jumped at the chance and, when you've got that enthusiasm, hopefully they can take it onto the pitch, they're both Welsh internationals and they've both got good left feet and that's something we're not blessed with."

Stanley are already without captain Peter Cavanagh for six weeks and attacking midfielder Rommy Boco could be sidelined for another six weeks with a back injury.
