A MOTHER-of-two took her ex-husband's bank card and went shopping, a court heard.

Emma Adshead, 35, had taken the card in frustration after he allegedly did not pay up for the children and she went to Asda, spending on £300 on food and household goods for her family, Burnley magistrates were told. Adshead, of Daneswood Avenue, Whitworth, admitted theft from Paul Airey and fraud.

She was given a 12-month conditional discharge.

The court was told the victim, who was lodging with the defendant's mother, was asleep on the couch when Adshead struck.

She took his debit card out of his jacket pocket and went to Asda.

She then cut up the card so she could not use it anymore.

Graeme Tindall, defending, said that Adshead was frustrated as her ex-husband did not have the children or contribute financially.
