IT seems odd to me, in these days when we are being encouraged to switch off our TVs rather than leave them on standby, that our local authority is proposing to erect a piece of public art at Sudell Cross, Blackburn, which uses electricity purely for a decorative effect.
I wonder if Blackburn with Darwen Council could indicate the power consumption of this item, and how many of us would need to switch off our TVs to compensate for the electricity used.
