ONCE again the hot weather brings with it a host of pests: blackfly, greenfly, the ubiquitous midge.

But the most annoying pest I have had to endure this summer and it seems to one that is growing in number, is ICE.

I am pestered by ICE (one of thos e TLAs: three lettered abbreviations). In Car Entertainment of very, very loud music from passing traffic. I do not want to be entertained by someone else's music.

The constant thud and boom makes my windows rattle and even the floor of my house vibrates.

It cannot be healthy for those in the cars. It is well known that exposure to loud noise causes hearing loss not to mention the noise pollution for me and my neighbours.

Is it safe for drivers? Surely if you cannot hear anything but the thud and boom of this noise in your car then you cannot hear anything else. Is this not equally distracting to the driver and a potential hazard?

What can I do to reduce this pollution and do any of your readers suffer with the same problem? Should we start a campaign?
