The closure of Cafe Beees is another sad day for Blackburn.
Will the council never learn?
Blackburn, my home town of which I used to be very proud, will become a clone of many other ‘faceless’ towns.
We have lost too many impressive buildings of character in the past and now the owners of a successful cafe, making good use of The Pavilions building (which is listed) have been evicted.
Yet another unwise decision that does not make any sense.
I agree that life must move on and we need to modernise but we can still do this by integrating our impressive and well built old buildings alongside the new and modern.
This is essential in order to keep some character in the town.
Sylvia Shillitoe (Mrs), Bolton
