RE Coun Dave Smith's letter on the new Darwen leisure centre.
This new centre will cost about £9million and will not have a sports hall, gym facilities etc.
There will be no new saunas and no replacement Tower Room.
And now Blackburn with Darwen Council wants to build a £1million sports hall at Darwen Vale High School with facilities for the school and as a potential replacement for those to be knocked down at Darwen Leisure Centre.
I agree with Coun Karimeh Foster when she said all the sports facilities currently at the leisure centre should remain all under one roof in the new leisure centre, not be split up.
When someone says leisure you think about a leisure centre, not going all over Darwen or to a school.
The new leisure centre is supposed to be a state of the art facility, it should have a sports hall, saunas etc.
The people of Darwen should say enough is enough and demand a new leisure centre with all facilities, under one roof, not scattered all over town.
