ON reading in the LT of the future planning proposals for bus and cycle lanes – all very well!
But as a disabled person, I challenge any councillor – try to negotiate around Blackburn and the surrounding areas on a pavement mobility scooter and you’ll realise the problem of a lack of kerbstone drops.
On a road-legal scooter at 8mph, this is suicidal. I have to run my car into town.
To use the scooter to access the shops, it’s sometimes just about impossible.
Come on, council, please also consider the disabled. Leave some funds for the kerbing needs.
