I AM responding to the article ‘Club launches probe into Turf trouble’ (LT, March 30).

I attended the match between Burnley and Blackburn Rovers on March 28 and was in the away end.

In the article police said “It is not correct to say that police allowed fans to take their beers into the stand.”

I’m sorry, but I beg to differ. Four friends and myself were asked by two police officers to move up to the stands.

When we pointed out we had bottles of lager, they responded by saying that under the circumstances they would turn a blind eye.

I seriously can’t believe that the five of us were the only one’s that had that said to them.
