Shuiab Khan may be forgiven for thinking that running a government is child’s play (LT March 26).
It is for this government, because they have the mentality of children. But for Mr Khan to state, “there are a fair few potholes in the road” and that if the council gave him a spade and tar he would fill those holes in himself, well.
Mr Khan, I will furnish you with a spade and tar and some sandwiches and a flask of coffee and a tent because there are more than few potholes in this town; there are few hundred and I think that you might find the task of filling in these objectionable holes more than a little daunting! Please don't make the state of the roads in this town sound as though it is just something and nothing – it isn't. You can ruin a drive shaft, a suspension unit, a tyre, alter the wheel alignment of your car (all of these very expensive to repair) and of course more seriously cause an accident.
The roads in and around Blackburn are in an appalling state and need seeing to now, professionaly of course and not by somebody who thinks they could do it overnight.
Chris Eggleston Quebec Road, Blackburn.
