After returning from my local newsagent’s and risking injury on ungritted streets, I was in equal measures annoyed and amused by the article regarding Blackburn Council requesting heaters for the town hall.
Maybe I could suggest that the said council could possibly keep themselves warm by burning all our returned council tax forms which will undoubtedly be returned to them for a refund for non-gritting of our streets and highways.
Personally, I suggest they do what they advise us oldies to do – put on more clothing.
