How ridiculous of the council, making people walk on the frozen snow with heavy bins and bags.
Fair enough, the idea of set points for collection was good but only for a small number of people.
I live off Fishmoor Drive, Blackburn, and our collection point was Newfield Drive.
That was no good, said most people, except those who lived at the top near Roman Road. Paths were frozen and slippery. Fishmoor Drive was clear of snow and ice so why didn’t they ask people in side streets to place the bins on the corner, since the lorries did drive up there.
Better still, send their workers down the streets to get the bins. But if they did that and workers fell, they would have no men to do the job.
It seems they would rather risk the safety of every-one who is not on their payroll.
