IN response to Coun A Cottam, executive member for regeneration and environment at Blackburn with Darwen (LT, January 9), residents taking wheely bins or sacks on backs to collection points at specific times is quite ludicrous.
Would it not be more sensible and safer of the council, who employ young refuse collectors, to pull these full wheely bins down to the end of all these back streets on to adjacent roads which local motorists have been using throughout the current bad weather?
Surely the council refuse vehicles can manage this.
