AT last! The comment column on pub closures in the LT (May 27) actually dealt with something of importance to the masses.
Remember the smug PC brigade who championed the smoking ban and cooed about the joys of drinking and going home with clothes free of cigarette smoke?
Well, well! These holier-than-thou minority killjoys have been as helpful to the licensed trade as a waterless firehose.
I reckon obsolete landlords, landladies and their staff (all jobless now) should sue these bigoted no-brainers for loss of earnings and inadequate support in their time of need.
A little help from newspapers and the media wouldn't go amiss, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
