REGARDING the article in the LT (May 27) by ex-councillor Florence Oldfield.

Para seven states, Many people become cynical about politicians and certainly over the past 12 months I have witnessed actions, within some members of the council, that have sought to bring discredit on the many hard-working council members and it has been sad to see'.

To many people this would imply that the members she refers to are the members of the coalition. This smells of sour grapes.

There will be numerous people who can see back 30 years and say the same about the ruling Labour council.

Let us hope that the back-biting finishes and you allow the council to carry on the good work.

It will take more than a year before Blackburn with Darwen recovers from the state it was left in.

The roads are in a terrible state of repair and that is mainly because of lack of attention over 30 years, not one.
