I FULLY understand the frustration of Chris Eggleston who wrote concerning Councillor Sidat but the situation is not easily dealt with. The councillor was a Liberal and a member of the coalition but, due to his long absences is now, I believe, an Independent.

Though no longer part of the coalition, his vote would be useful to whichever group he chose to support provided he stayed in the chamber long enough to do any voting.

At the last council meeting he disappeared before his seat had warmed up and was not much help to anyone.

As for getting rid of him, neither my own party, the Conservatives, or his recent party, the Liberals can remove him as a councillor.

Even the voters who elected him will have to wait for the opportunity to show whether or not they wish him to continue as their representative.

COUNCILLOR BRIAN GORDON, Meadowhead Ward.
