IN respect of the debate regarding free bus travel, I was a little perplexed to read that the previous borough-wide scheme was free at all times "across the county".
I don't know where County Councillor Tomlinson got his information from, but someone forgot to tell Pendle Borough Council, Burnley and Pendle Transport and Northern Blue as Norwest pass holders were charged half-fare before 9.30am when the free bus passes "kicked in".
This persisted during the year of borough-wide passes until the national scheme started on April 1, 2008. I therefore request rebate of my half-fares during the year past, or an explanation of why we were charged, and whether other boroughs in the county were also in the same situation. Over to you Councillor Tomlinson.
