I WAS pleasantly surprised on Good Friday when travelling to Blackburn on the A666 (Blackburn Road) to see the bin lorries collecting rubbish.
However, this soon turned to anger when I saw bin men throwing everything in the back of the wagon.
Waste paper in recyclable sacks (in the back), along with normal rubbish and plastic and glass bottles out of the green container.
Are we wasting our time religiously sorting waste?
Is the council just playing at recycling? Or perhaps this is the free exercise we're supposed to be getting.
