NOW that drug addict prisoners are to be awarded compensation for having to go cold turkey whilst serving their sentence (because it would go against their human rights), shouldn't I, as a smoker, be awarded compensation also?
If I was admitted to hospital I wouldn't be allowed to smoke in the hospital or grounds. After June next year I will not be allowed to smoke in pubs and clubs, even private ones. So in effect I will be forced into going cold turkey.
I am sure there will be no compensation for me, even though my human rights are being ridden roughshod over. After all, my addiction is legal and I have never committed a crime to feed it.
It is worrying enough to be going into hospital without having to go cold turkey as well.
What about the employees? Surely a fag at break time outside the hospital will do harm to nobody but themselves.
It would seem that at the end of the day, criminals have more human rights than the hard-working, taxpaying, honest members of society.
