I WOULD like to thank Councillor Karimeh Foster for her sterling work in arguing for a fair deal for the people of Darwen and active Darwen Leisure Centre users since the nonsense of a split-site facility was announced by the council.
Other councillors who have publicly supported the case for facilities all on one site are Blackburn Councillors Alan Cottam and Michael Johnson.
Thank you too for arguing for a sensible, long-term sports and leisure package for the people of Darwen and surrounding communities. We must not allow a divide and rule strategy by the council to succeed.
All Darreners should stand together on this issue and keep arguing with the council for all facilities on one site.
