AS someone who lives and works in Darwen, I'd be interested in knowing if there is anyone out there who can explain the logic behind chaos that is now the new road system in Darwen?
The town centre now is an absolute disgrace - at busy times no traffic moves in any direction, traffic is queuing to go through to Bolton, traffic is queuing to go through to Blackburn, and we have jams as never before.
We even have traffic james where people are trying to negotiate their way up to Bold Venture.
To get to work at morning and the same at night (a five minutes journey) now takes about 30 minutes if you're lucky.
I think by the time this is finished there won't be many businesses surviving in Darwen - I can't think that anyone would willingly drive into Darwen to shop at the moment, and even as a pedestrian you take your life in your hands negotiating the roadworks - an absolute disgrace.
JEAN HENNESSEY, Carr Road, Darwen.
